picoChip completes $20 million funding round
picoChip last week announced the completion of a $20 million funding round.
This fresh investment from top tier VCs and institutional investors comes at a time in the economic cycle when only the strongest companies can secure finance. It will help picoChip extend its leadership and grasp the growing market opportunity in the femtocell sector.
"This investment comes as the market is taking off for picoChip: it is testament to what we have already achieved, and our investors' belief in our future," said picoChip's CEO Nigel Toon.

Complete femtocell solution - picoChip extends leadership
picoChip has announced the development of an end-to-end femtocell reference solution that will lower barriers to market entry, reduce costs and accelerate time-to-market for femtocells.
picoChip's complete solution addresses key 'pain points' experienced by manufacturers when developing femtocells, such as interference management, security, timing and provisioning. It extends significantly beyond silicon to overcome designers' challenges at a systems level.

picoChip expands MWC presence in 2010
picoChip will have a bigger presence than ever at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in 2010, on Stand D56 in Hall 1.
Visitors will have the chance to see the first wave of commercial femtocells enabled by picoChip technology; and to find out about picoChip's developing range of system-level femto solutions.
In addition to its picoXcell femtocell SoCs, the company will also show current-generation picoChip hardware that enables LTE femtocells today.
picoChip will also be continuing its focus on interoperability and open standards, as the industry builds up to its first "plugfest" during the first half of 2010.
MWC 2010 will be well worth a visit: we'd be delighted to see you there.

picoChip looks ahead at Femtocell Americas 2009
picoChip was a Gold Sponsor at last week's Femtocells Americas 2009 event in San Diego. It certainly was a busy event, with contributions from operators such as DoCoMo and AT&T, and a general feeling that the femto industry has "changed up a gear" over recent months.
In keeping with this atmosphere, picoChip demonstrated its picoXcell HSPA femtocell solutions, now shipping in volume. Meanwhile, at the conference, VP of Marketing Rupert Baines offered his thoughts on the transition of femtocells from trials to full commercial operator deployments.

picoChip brings LTE closer
picoChip announced the first fully-featured development system for LTE femtocells, interlinking with the LTE Focus event held in Amsterdam, which the company sponsored. The PC9608 allows OEMs to develop, prototype and field trial LTE designs using currently available hardware, while offering a seamless migration path to picoChip's cost-optimized picoXcell SoCs.
The China Femtocell Symposium in October provided an opportune forum for picoChip to demonstrate its solutions for TD-LTE, TD-SCDMA and WCDMA within China's technology market place.
